Die Geige ist der Bogen / The Violin is the Bow

Tension has produced movement in the bow. Sound is formulated through pressure and friction. This hair is played out again as the horse's hair, and all the sounds ever produced fade away. The work was part of the site-specific intervention by the Expanded Cinema class at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. The exhibition “DSCH” takes place parallel to the performances of Shostakovich's string quartets in the foyer of the chamber music hall.
